I have two handsome sons...one lives in southern Colorado and I see him seldom (HUGE SAD FACE) and my older son lives with me.
Yesterday, Chris, my older son, organized a team from his company and participated in the Pulling for Honor competition at the Eastern Iowa Airport in Cedar Rapids. Approximately 40 different teams of 15-25 members were brave enough to get out on the tarmac and pull a (get this) 60 ton 757 donated use by Fed Ex. Enough money was raised for two honor flights for veteran's to go to Washington, DC. How exciting is that???
Team Rexco Equipment pulled this behemoth in 5.7 seconds and finished in the top half of the competition.
Today, was the local farmer's market at our city park. There were so many delicious items, it was difficult to choose---I walked away with fresh green beans, red potatoes, and some yummy oatmeal M & M crunchie cookies.
My travels took me to Half Price Books, where I took 6 copies of Bittersweet, Book 1 of the Acorn Hills series... stopped for a hug from my bff Gary, to the grocery store, and to Michael's. I purchased items to support my new habit...painting with acrylics.
My goal is to paint something for each book and have them be contest prizes. The first, Paris in Spring, will be the prize for Romance Rendezvous 3, Sept 16th at the Hilton Garden Inn in Cedar Falls, Iowa.
