Ever have one of those days that leaves you totally in a pile of ashes, literally? Well, welcome to my world. I'm Heather Morgan, recently divorced, mother of two grown daughters and a beautiful Collie named Shiloh. As you come with me on my journey, I can't guarantee it will all be roses, but I will say it will be the most open and honest friendship you've had in a while. I'm excited to know more about you as you find out about the skeletons I've been hiding all these years.

I'm Susan Richardson and welcome to my lovely Victorian Home. I just said that magical word, "yes" to the most wonderful man. I don't know how I became blessed to have two such handsome guys want to be my husband. I hope you enjoy our journey in TWICE AROUND THE BLOCK.

Many have asked what is next? Well, I thought I'd let the characters tell you. Each week a different character from each book will let you know what's been happening in their world since their book was published.
Today, we begin with Fliss Dawson from SECOND CHANCES https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07LCWZJCD.
Hello there! It's been a few months since we've seen each other. I hope you're well. New Year's Eve was fabulous. Tucker and I attended a private party at the penthouse of one of his co-workers. It was a beautiful evening of dancing under the stars. The more I'm with this man, the more I fall in love. Don't tell him, though. I'm not sure he's ready for that. I know, I'm chuckling along with you. He is the most gentlemanly gentle man I've met. And, I think that even includes my ex-husband...but that's a subject we won't give time to.
Sabrina, Tucker's lovely daughter and my soon to be daughter-in-law, has enlisted my help with wedding plans. She and my son, Blair, are hoping for an early autumn wedding--outdoors, of course. So, we plan accordingly because the weather in the Pacific Northwest is so unpredictable. So far, her best friend, Lyndsy, has taken charge of most things. The one thing Sabrina asked of me may surprise you. She wants me to walk with her as her father walks her up the aisle to my son. To say I'm chuffed is an understatement.
Tucker has asked me to confer on a few architectural assignments, and I'm finding my love of interior design has returned. We've even talked of setting up an office for me in his building. It warms my heart he wants me to work with him, as well as have a personal life together.
I must go for now. I'll keep you updated with how the wedding plans are coming together. Please, don't hesitate to stop by. Tea is always ready.
Fondly,
Fliss

From the desk of Devon Halloran Dempsey
It’s spring and work at Richard’s Relics has picked up, like it usually does. I can’t seem to keep the store filled. There are days when I look back at my time in that tiny office upstairs and wonder how I did it…how I taught guitar lessons, helped with inventory, and kept my sanity.
I moved into Dad’s office shortly after he deeded the store to me. That was two years ago. It seems longer. He was a natural at this. I can only hope to be that someday.
Phoebe and I have a fairly solid relationship. After three years, we know how we feel about each other and there’s been no pressure to make it any more than it is…I know I’m in love with her, and I know that at some point we’ll more than likely make it legal. Do I regret not asking her to marry me while both of my parents were alive? Sometimes. But, the words of a wise man, Richard Dempsey, my dad, ring in my head and heart.
“Sometimes, Son, you have to do what you have to do. That doesn’t mean it’s right or wrong. When the time is right, things will happen. If they don’t, they weren’t meant to be.”
I miss that man so much. I was too young to remember much about my biological father, Brett Halloran. I only remember Richard. He’s the one who tossed the football to me in the backyard. He’s the one who attended all my high school games. He’s the one who taught me how to be a man. He’s the one who finally made mom happy. I hope in his rest, he knows how much I loved him…that’s why I kept the name of the store. It will always be Richard’s Relics, no one else’s.
Mom keeps busy with social meetings, grand kids, and such, but I know she misses him, too.
You know what? The more I think about it, the more I think I may just have a special dinner with Phoebe. Mom needs another daughter-in-law, and I think she’d have a blast doing the wedding flowers, even if my brother, Alex, would protest.
Keep your fingers crossed!

From Eve Braden, owner and editor of The Acorn Hills Chronicle https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00PV5M17O
Eve Braden here. It’s Spring in Acorn Hills and that means the city is alive: daffodils, tulips, magnolia trees, flowering almonds are in bloom, children are riding their bicycles, and more people are walking than ever before. It’s nice to see, really.
The Chronicle is still going, although I don’t know how much longer we’ll be in publication. People today want everything instantly, including their news. Society is moving toward an all digital format and I’m not sure I like that. I love the smell of the ink on the presses.
Brad is doing well, busier than ever. Again, a sign of the times. People order more online and have things delivered than they do shop in a real store. It’s crazy. I guess I’m a social person and will have to accept that isn’t how I want to live my life.
Brady is growing like crazy. He starts kindergarten in the fall. He is so smart. It amazes me that I gave birth to that little monkey. Books litter the downstairs of our home and crayons and pens seem to land everywhere Brady goes. Who knows, someday he may be a famous artist or engineer.
We’d talked about having another child and no sooner than those words left our mouths, we found out we were pregnant! Can you believe it? My due date is close to Halloween. I’ll keep you updated.
Life in Acorn Hills is wonderful. I’m so glad I moved her and bought The Chronicle. The excitement is real in this place as is the love in my heart for my Brad.
There’s an accident that must be covered, so I will go. Thanks for checking in with us. We love you.

Catching up with Felicia and Alex Halloran
Holiday Promises, Book 6 of The Acorn Hills Series https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01920F4VS
Four years passed so quickly! It’s hard to believe when last we spoke it was Christmas and Alex and I had just found we were pregnant, and I was dealing with the diagnosis of Multiple Sclerosis.
My wonderful birth mother, Denise Turner, fought with all she had against this awful disease. She didn’t have the access to the multiple disease modifying medications that I have today. It was difficult to watch her life slipping from her. She never gave up, though, and made me promise that I wouldn’t either.
Her memorial service was nothing short of beautiful. Alex, God, I love that man so much, outdid himself on the flowers for the service. It was everything Mom loved. My twin sister, Adriana, was my rock during that time. I’m so thankful we live close to each another.
The girls are psyched for their fourth birthday party this weekend. A themed party, of course. My daughters couldn’t choose something simple like unicorns or princesses. No, they had to choose doctors and nurses…because they informed me they would find something to fix me, so I had energy to play with them.
Emily and Amanda are the lights of our lives. They sure have Alex wrapped around their fingers! I keep telling him if he gives in to everything they want now, he’s in trouble when they are sixteen. He just laughs, kisses my cheek, and says “we’ll get through it.”
Alex still works way too many hours at Special Occasions. His mom, Jillian, dabbles with flowers during holidays. I’m so glad she is still able to do that.
Skip and Adriana bring their son, Jonathan, over to play with the girls. I’m not too sure Skip likes seeing his son in ballerina play clothing. The kids have so much fun when they’re together.
Me, well, I resigned my position as Dean of Coral Knolls Community College in my second trimester… partly because I was as big as a house, and partly because all I could do is sleep because of the MS fatigue. I love being a full-time mom to these two little twincesses. My days are never dull, that’s for sure.
Alex and I are more in love today than we have ever been. We face each morning with new hope that a cure will be found for MS, that our girls will be safe from a diagnosis, and that we can make a difference in the lives of those around us. After all that is what life is about… being kind and making a difference.
I’m off to the second hand store to hopefully find some old medical supplies that I can use for decorations for the party. Please take care of yourselves. It’s so nice visiting with you again.
