We tend to take so much for granted in our surroundings. It takes a move or devastation such as this to sometimes jar our memories of how wonderful we had it.
Hundreds of thousands of acres in steep rugged mountain terrain have been lost, mountain communities have been evacuated as safety precautions, roads/railways have been closed, and hundreds of firefighters from all over the country and abroad are laying their lives on the line daily making sure these fires do not injure people or structures.
We hear through the media, on a daily basis, where a police officer has been gunned down for no reason, where malicious people start fires...again for no reason...where those who protect the people and their possessions in this country are dissed. It breaks my heart to see and hear that.
My deepest gratitude is extended to the family and friends of firefighters, police officers, and emergency personnel of any kind for your support for your loved one doing their job to assure MY safety. To those on the front lines..Thank you isn't enough! My prayers for protections surround all who battle in these professions. It takes a certain type of person to sacrifice their own life to save others. Again, thank you!
